ಯಾವ ಹೂಗಳಿಂದ ತಾಯ ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರೋ

ತಾಯ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗಾವ ಹೂವನರ್ಪಿಸುವಿರೋ

 

ದ್ವಿವರ್ಣದಿ ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕನಕಾಂಬರವೋ

ದೇವತೆಗಳೂ ಆಶಿಸಿದ ಪಾರಿಜಾತಪುಷ್ಪವೋ

ಮನಮೋಹಿಸುವ ಸುಗಂಧದ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಯೋ

ಸಂಪಿಗೆಯೋ ಜಾಜಿಯೋ ಕೆನ್ನೈದಿಲೆಯೋ

ಸೇವಂತಿಗೆಯೋ ಕಣಗಿಲೆಯೋ ದಾಸವಾಳವೋ

 

ಯಾವ ಹೂಗಳಿಂದ ತಾಯ ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರೋ

ತಾಯ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗಾವ ಹೂವನರ್ಪಿಸುವಿರೋ

 

ಯಾವ ವಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ಸೀತಮ್ಮನ ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರೋ

ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯ ಮುದಗೊಳಿಸಲೇನು ಮಾಡುವಿರೋ

 

ಧೂಪದೀಪವ ಹಚ್ಚುವಿರೋ ನೈವೇದ್ಯವುಣಿಸುವಿರೋ

ತೀರ್ಥ ಹಂಚುವಿರೋ ಆರತಿಯ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಬೆಳಗುವಿರೋ

ಕೈಮುಗಿದು ನೂರೆಂಟು ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣೆ ಸುತ್ತುವಿರೋ

ವ್ರತಾದಿ ಉಪವಾಸ ಕರ್ಮಗಳನಾಚರಿಸುವಿರೋ

ತೋರಣ ಕಂಬ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಪಬ್ಬವ ಕೊಂಡಾಡುವಿರೋ

ಸಹಸ್ರ ನಾಮಾರ್ಚನೆಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಮುಗಿಸುವಿರೋ

ಯಾವ ವಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ಸೀತಮ್ಮನ ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರೋ

ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯ ಮುದಗೊಳಿಸಲೇನು ಮಾಡುವಿರೋ

 

ಯಾವ ಹೂಗಳಿಂದ ತಾಯ ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರೋ

ತಾಯ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗಾವ ಹೂವನರ್ಪಿಸುವಿರೋ

 

ಮೂಢಗಳಿರಾ ಹೂವ ತೊರೆದು ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಮುಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು

ನಿನ್ನನರ್ಪಿಸದೆ ನಿನ್ನದನರ್ಪಿಸದೆ ನಿನ್ನನರಿಯಬಲ್ಲೆಯಾ

ಹೂವುಗಳನಲ್ಲ ತುಂಬಿದ ಅಜ್ಞಾನವ ಪಾದಕ್ಕರ್ಪಿಸಿರೋ

ಅಹಂಕಾರದ ಕರ್ಪೂರವ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಆತ್ಮ ಜೋತಿ ಬೆಳಗಿರೋ

ಭಕುತಿಯ ದೀಪವ ಹಚ್ಚಿರೋ ತಮವ ತೊರೆಯಿರೋ

ಕರ್ಮವನಾಚರಿಸಿರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮವನಾಚರಿಸಿರೋ

ಜೀವಾತ್ಮಗಳಿಗೊಂದೇ ಆತ್ಮವನರಿಯುವ ದಾರಿ

ತಾಯಿ ವಜ್ರಗರಿಕಾಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕರಿಸುವ ಪರಿ

 

ಹೇಳಿರೋ ಯಾವ ಹೂಗಳಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರೋ

ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೇನನರ್ಪಿಸುವಿರೋ

What flowers do I worship you with, Mother

What flowers will you worship Mother with,

What flowers will you offer at Her feet?

 

The enchanting kanakambara of two colours?

The parijata that even the gods wish for?

The malli of captivating ethereal fragrance?

Champaka? Jaji? Or the red naidile?

Crysanthemum? Kanagile? Or hibiscus?

 

What flowers will you worship Mother with,

What flowers will you offer at Her feet?

 

In what manner will you worship Seetamma?

What will you do to make Her,

            progenitor of the world, happy?

 

Will you light lamps and frankinscence? Or offer naivedya?

Will you distribute teerth? Or show the aarati?

Will you worshipfully circumambulate a 108 times?

Keep fasts and other prescribed rituals?

Celebrate festivals with piety and aplomb?

Do the task of chanting Her 1000 names?

In what manner will you worship Seetamma?

What will you do to make Her,

            progenitor of the world, happy?

 

What flowers will you worship Mother with,

What flowers will you offer at Her feet?

 

Fools!  Giving up the flower, the creeper became free

Without offering yourself,

without offering that which is yours,

can you understand yourself?

Not flowers, but offer your ignorance at her feet

Burn the camphor of ignorance,

            and light the flame of the Self

Light the lamp of bhakti, rid yourself of darkness

Perform your karma, be steadfast in your dharma

For the embodied, that is the only path

            to realising the Self (atman)

And realising Her, Mother Vajragarikambika

 

Tell me now,

What flowers will you worship Mother with,

What flowers will you offer at Her feet?
