ಏನಾಗಬಯಸುವೆ ತಾಯಿ

 

ನಿನ್ನ ಆಟದ ಚೆಂಡಿನ ಹೂವಾಗ ಬಯಸುವೆ ತಾಯಿ

ಸದಾ ವರದಹಸ್ತ ಮಸ್ತಕದ ಮೇಲಿರುವುದೆಂದು

ಹಾದಿಯ ಭೂಮಿಯಾಗ ಬಯಸುವೆನು ತಾಯಿ

ಚಿರಕಾಲ ಪದತಲ ಎನ್ನೆದೆಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವುದೆಂದು

ನಿನ್ನ ದಿವ್ಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪವ ಸದಾಕಾಲ ನೋಡುತಿರಲು

ಸೂರ್ಯನಾಗ ಬಯಸುವೆ ತಾಯಿ ಚಂದ್ರನಾಗ ಬಯಸುವೆ

ಗ್ರಹಣ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಗಳಂದೂ ನೋಡುತಲೇ ಇರಬೇಕು

ತಾಯಿ ವಜ್ರಗರಿಕಾಂಬಿಕೆಯೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಲು

ರಾಹುವೂ ಕೇತುವೂ ಆಗ ಬಯಸುವೆ ಕರುಣಾಮಯಿಯೆ

O Mother, here’s what I desire to be...

 

To be flower ball that you play with

            I desire to be,

So that your hand that blesses

            will always be on my head,

To be the path that you walk on

            I desire to be,

So that the marks of your feet

            will always be on my chest,

To always be able to see

            your glorious manifestation,

I desire to become the sun by day

            and the moon of the night,

I want to be able to see you

            during the eclipses too,

Mother Vajragarikambika

            to fill my eyes with you,

O kindness personified

            I desire to be Rahu and Ketu.

Note: Rahu and Ketu are considered inauspicious, since they cause the eclipses.  Yet, the devotee wants to be seeing the great Mother always and does not mind becoming the detested Rahu and Ketu too, so that he may forever gaze upon her divine form.
