ಏನೆಂದು ವರ್ಣಿಸಲಿ ತಾಯಿ

 

ಕೇಳುವ ಲೋಕಕೆ ಏನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಿ ತಾಯಿ

ನಿನ್ನನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಲು ಕೇಳುವರಲ್ಲ

ನಿನ್ನೀ ವರದ ಹಸ್ತವ ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಲು ಪದಗಳು ಸಾಲದು

ಪದತಲ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ವರ್ಣಿಸಲು ಮಾತು ಬಾರದು

ಕ್ಷುದ್ರ ನಾನು ಕರುಣಾಕಟಾಕ್ಷವ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುವ ಸಾಹಸವೆ

ಕಾಣುವುದನ್ನೇ ವರ್ಣಿಸಲು ಆಗದು

ಕಾಣದ್ದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆತಾನೆ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಿ ತಾಯಿ

ನಿನ್ನ ಕೃಪೆಯೊಂದೇ ಸಾಕೆನ್ನುವ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ

ಬೇರೆನುತ ಬೇಕು ತಾಯಿ ವಜ್ರಗರಿಕಾಂಬಿಕೆಯೆ

What shall I tell those who ask, Mother

They who want me to picture you

Words are not enough to describe

                your hand that blesses

Words fail to describe the glory

                of your lotus feet

Unqualified as I am, can I dare

                picture your eyes that

                overflow with kindness

When I cannot describe

                that which I see

How can I explain that

                which is beyond mortal sight?

I who ask for nothing

                beyond your munificence

What else do I need

                Mother Vajragarikambika?
