ಪಾದಾಶ್ರಯವನ್ನರಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಮುನಿಯಬೇಡ ತಾಯಿಯೆ

 

ಮಾತುಮಾತಿಗೂ ಪಾದಾಶ್ರಯವನ್ನರಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಮುನಿಯಬೇಡ ತಾಯಿ

ನೀನಲ್ಲದೆ ಎನಗೆ ರಕ್ಷೆ ಯಾರು ತಾಯಿ

ತುರುವ ಕಂಡ ಕರುವು ಬಳಿಗೋಡದೆ

ಕರುಣಾಮಯಿ ಕಾಮಧೇನುವು ನೀನು

ನಿನ್ನ ಕರು ನಾನಲ್ಲವೆ ತಾಯೆ ವಜ್ರಗರಿಕಾಂಬಿಕೆಯೆ

ಬಿಸಿಲಲಿ ಬೆಂದವನು ನೆಳಲ ಕಂಡು ಹಿಗ್ಗದಿರುವನೆ

ಭವಸಾಗರ ಬಳಲಿನ ಬಿಸಿಲಿಗೆ ನೆರಳು ನೀನಲ್ಲವೆ

ಅವ್ವೆಯ ಮಡಿಲ ಕಂಡ ಮಗುವು ನೆಲವನ್ನಪ್ಪುವುದೆ

ತಾಯೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪದತಲದ ಶಾಂತಿಯಿರೆ

ಜೀವನದ ಅಳಲು ತೊಳಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಬಳಲಿದ ರಾಮ

ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಮೊರೆ ಬೇಡದೆ ಬೇರೇನ ಮಾಡೆ

that I seek the shelter of your feet

for every small thing,

Who else but You

should protect me?

Doesn’t a delighted calf

run to the mother cow?

You are the infinitely kind

wish fulfilling nurturer of the world,

Am I not your calf

Mother Vajragarikambika?

Will the sun weary traveller

not rejoice on seeing shade?

Are you not the shade

from the heat of this unreal world?

Will an infant choose the hard earth

over the comfort of the mother’s lap?

Mother, with the peace of your feet

at but arm’s reach,

Will this world weary Rama

buffetted by worries and griefs

Do anything but seek

the shelter of your feet?
