ದರುಶನವ ಕೋರುವೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸು ತಾಯೆ

 

ದರುಶನವ ಕೋರುವೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸು ತಾಯೆ

ಚಿತ್ರಪಟದಿಂದ ಮನ ತಣಿಸುವುದೆ

ಮರೀಚಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ದಾಹ ತೀರುವುದೆ

ಸ್ಮೃತಿಪಲ್ಲಟದ ಛಾಯೆ ಸಾಕಾಗುವುದೆ

ಕೊಡೆಯ ನೆನಪು ನೆರಳ ನೀಡುವುದೆ

ಪಠಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಸ್ವರೂಪದನುಭವವಾಗುವುದೆ

ಪಾತ್ರೆಪಗಡೆಗಳ ಸಪ್ಪಳದಿಂದ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬವುದೆ

ದರುಶನವ ತೋರೀ ರಾಮನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸು ತಾಯೆ

ದರುಶನವ ಕೋರುವೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸು ತಾಯೆ.

Will a picture satisfy my seeking heart

Will a mirage slake the thirst

Will a conjured image in memory suffice

Will the memory of an umbrella give shade

Will chanting help understand your form

Will the clang of pots and pans satisfy hunger

Bless this Rama with your darshan, mother

I seek but a glimpse, won’t you bestow kindly.
